Tell the Arizona Corporation Commission: Keep rooftop solar growing
The Arizona Corporation Commission is an elected, five-member board. It sets rules for our state’s electric system. Commissioners are considering an expansion of Arizona’s Renewable Energy Standard and Tariff (REST). Under REST, 15% of the electricity sold in the state must come from renewable energy sources by 2025.
We are close to meeting this goal. The Commission wants to go further. Commissioners have indicated they will enact a 100% clean energy by 2050 standard.
Commissioners should use this increase as an opportunity to help more Arizonans take their homes solar.
They can do this by including a 10% carve out for electricity that comes from distributed energy sources, like rooftop solar.
