Tell the Arizona Corporation Commission: Update Arizona’s clean energy rules
The Arizona Corporation Commission is an elected, five-member board. It sets rules for our state’s electric system. Commissioners are considering an expansion of the state’s rules for renewable and clean energy, energy efficiency, and battery storage.
We are close to meeting the state’s existing 15% renewable energy goal. The Commission wants to go further.
Commissioners have adopted rules that would enact a 50% renewable energy standard by 2035 and a 100% clean energy by 2050 standard. The commission also adopted an innovative energy storage standard. It would help more homes install battery storage systems.
The last step is for the commission to finalize these rules.
