CPN receives recognition for solar co-op development from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments

Grant Klein and Corey Ramsden of CPN receive COG award

Today the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) recognized the Community Power Network as a recipient of its Climate and Energy Leadership Award in the non-profit category. The organization recognized our work to help communities build grassroots solar co-op initiatives across the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

COG is an independent, nonprofit association that brings area leaders together to address major regional issues in the District of Columbia, suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia. The awards were distributed at the October 2015 COG Board of Directors Meeting by Montgomery County Councilmember and COG Climate, Energy and Environment Policy Committee (CEEPC) Chair Roger Berliner and COG’s Air and Climate Public Advisory Committee (ACPAC) Chair Glenna Tinney.

Other winners included the City of Takoma Park, Frederick County, and Nextility. The awards recognize and encourage local actions to advance the regional climate and energy goals established COG leaders.
