Q&A with Film Director of How to Power a City

Join us for a special night with Melanie LaRosa, the director of the film, How to Power a City. Ask your questions to Melanie about the film, the groups spotlighted in the film, and anything else you might be wondering about! Melanie is an award-winning filmmaker, author and professor in the Media, Communication, and Visual Arts Department at Pace University. 

 

 

More about Melanie: 

Melanie La Rosa is an award-winning filmmaker and a professor in the Media, Communication, and Visual Arts Department at Pace University. Her documentary “How To Power A City” follows individuals leading solar and wind power projects in six U.S. communities. Her book, “Communities and the Clean Energy Revolution,” was published by Lexington Books/Rowman & Littlefield in 2022. She is a Public Voices Fellow with the OpEd Project and Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, and her writing has been published in World War Zero, The Progressive, NACLA, the Journal of Film and Video, and EDITMedia. 

Melanie grew up in Lansing, Michigan and she now divides her time between New York City and upstate New York. She holds an MFA in Film and Media from Temple University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
