Help put solar on our local schools
What could your local school do with an extra $16,000 per year? Let’s help them go solar and find out! The average Florida public school would save $16,000 by installing a 100-kilowatt solar system. This is money they can use to educate our children instead.
Lawmakers need to make some small changes to state law before this can happen.
There are three bills under consideration, SB 1290, HB 1419, and HB 935. They would pave the way for solar by:
- Allowing common sense financing options that allow schools to avoid solar’s upfront costs;
- Allowing multiple schools or public buildings to share savings from a common solar array; and
- Exempting solar projects from school construction spending caps.
Reach out to your elected officials today and ask them to co-sponsor these bills.
