Protect your right to go solar in Lake Worth

Lake Worth city commissioners recently voted to block residents and businesses from connecting rooftop solar panels to the electric grid.

The Lake Worth city commissioners, who manage the city’s municipally-owned utility, imposed a four-month moratorium on solar interconnections, banning new solar installations on private property.

Commissioners decided to impose this unfair and unnecessary ban after they realized the city was negligent in the way it approved solar installations. Now commissioners want to penalize future solar homeowners for their own mistake.

Send a clear message to Lake Worth city officials that their solar moratorium is an outrageous violation of residents’ solar rights. Demand that they repeal their solar ban and tell them that the city should comply with state law without infringing on our ability to generate solar power on their own properties.
