Protect solar in Orlando

Solar rights in Orlando are under attack. Orlando’s utility (OUC) has asked the Commission to approve a plan that would end solar net metering.

Net metering is a billing system for solar owners. It ensures solar owners earn fair credit for the electricity they generate but don’t use themselves.

Under net metering, solar owners earn a 1-to-1 credit. That is, the value of the solar they generate is equal to the value of the solar they buy from the electricity.

OUC’s Commission is considering a proposal that would end net metering. It would replace the credit solar owners earn under net metering with a much lower credit. This will harm solar owners’ investment in solar, and make it harder for potential solar owners to go solar as well.

What you can do

Use the form on the right to contact Mayor Dyer and OUC Commission.
