Colorado Program/Engagement Intern

The Colorado Program of Solar United Neighbors is looking for an enthusiastic individual interested in helping expand solar energy and supporting volunteer engagement as part of its mission to help people go solar, come together, and fight for their energy rights. This role will support outreach and engagement for the Denver Solar Co-op, while facilitating a statewide Engagement Team to foster opportunities for the public to be informed and engaged in our work.

Internship roles and responsibilities:

  • Communications – fostering a community network
    • Keep up-to-date on local, state, and federal strategies by participating in relevant solar co-op or policy calls
    • Facilitate the creation of a monthly newsletter for state listserv
    • Facilitate a monthly engagement call with members
    • Create and monitor social media communications
    • Hold regular one-on-one conversations with interested volunteers
    • Elevate best practices and important voices / stories
  • Engagement planning – fostering leadership development
    • Work with volunteers and partners to facilitate the creation of strategic community events such as educational panel discussions, meet-and-greets, solar information sessions, trivia nights, tours, and more.
  • Engagement tracking – monitoring our progress
    • Work within Google Drive and Salesforce tracking systems to document various engagement activities and leadership development

Internship accommodation

This internship role will be accommodated out of Solar United Neighbor’s internship fund at $15/hour for 10 hours a week for a total stipend of $2,000.
