Thank Gov. Dayton for protecting community solar

Governor Dayton vetoed an attempt by the Minnesota legislature to prevent individuals from participating in community solar projects.

More than 6,000 Minnesota residential customers are getting affordable solar power through the program and together save $700,000 a month on their energy bills. We are on track to install more than 400 MW of community solar throughout the state.

But, this successful and much-needed program would have been undermined by a provision in the recently-passed Energy Omnibus bill. This provision would have amended the law for community solar in a way that would have prevented future residential customers from participating in the program.

Governor Dayton deserves thanks for making sure this didn’t happen.
