As we’ve discussed in previous posts, community solar makes it possible for anyone with an electric bill to benefit from solar energy—even if they can’t go solar on their own home. Since 2013, we’ve worked with a wide group of activists and community groups to push for real community solar in our state. While Maryland’s Community Solar Pilot Program was created by the Maryland General Assembly in 2015, it’s taken years of work to get where we are today.
We believe that it is important for everyone to have an unbiased resource to learn about community solar and the specific projects being developed around the state. That’s why we’re proud to announce our new list of open community solar projects in Maryland!
This resource from Solar United Neighbors of Maryland marks a new milestone for the development and availability of community solar in our state. Our list presents community solar projects open in your utility territory and provides a helpful overview of the project to help you make an informed decision about which project fits your needs.
