Arlington residents choose Edge Energy as solar co-op installer

Last Tuesday, neighbors in Arlington selected EDGE Energy though a competitive bidding process to complete installation of solar panels on co-op members’ homes. VA SUN worked with co-op members to help them leverage their collective buying power to go solar together and get a discount off the installation price.

VA SUN simplified the solar process for the co-op by providing our solar expertise to answer members’ questions and guide them through installer selection. VA SUN also conducted reviews of co-op members homes to see that they were suitable for solar. Co-op membership is still open to the public until May 31st. AIRE and ACE are sponsoring the co-op.

EDGE Energy was chosen from multiple submissions. Co-op members were impressed with EDGE Energy’s bid because of their ability to offer quality components at competitive prices.

Arlington residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at the co-op website until May 31st. Joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Co-op members receive the group price but sign a contract individually with the installer. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, each participant generally saves up to 20% off the cost of their system and has the support of VA SUN and other community members during the process.
