D.C. PSC looks at grid modernization

By Ben Delman on August 24, 2015

The D.C. Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a public workshop on October 1 to discuss what policies and technologies the District should employ to modernize electricity distribution. This is a great opportunity for solar advocates to make our voices heard. We can make sure that distributed, local renewable energy is priority.

The PSC has outlined several goals for a modernized electric grid. They seek a grid that is more sustainable, reliable, cost effective, and interactive. Solar exceeds all of these qualifications.

Additionally, the PSC is accepting comments on this matter. Comments are due by August 31. They should be submitted to: Brinda Westbrook-Sedgwick, Commission Secretary, Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia, 1325 G Street, N.W. Suite 800, Washington, DC 20005; or psc-commissionsecretary@dc.gov.
