Donor Spotlight: Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP

By Krystal Persaud on May 19, 2021

Solar United Neighbors appreciates the major financial contribution made by Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP (PSRB) toward helping low-to-moderate-income families go solar through our 2020-2021 Indianapolis solar co-op. We’re honored to present this interview with PSRB Partner Colin E. Connor (pictured above) to spotlight the company’s support of this project:

What role does philanthropy play in your firm’s pursuit of its goals?

PSRB: Philanthropy is very important to everyone at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun (PSRB). We enjoy giving back to the organizations and communities we serve. We have a long philanthropic history and believe providing resources, both financial and through volunteerism, is the ultimate way of helping these organizations thrive and serve the needs of their communities.

What inspired your firm’s contribution toward helping low-to-moderate-income Indianapolis families obtain rooftop solar systems for their homes?

PSRB: Contributing to Solar United Neighbors’ rooftop solar program really hits PSRB’s sweet spot in terms of helping families in our community and the environment. It’s truly a win-win!

Please share why advancing solar power is important to your firm.

PSRB: As individuals and as a firm, we embrace initiatives that help improve the environment by reducing our environmental footprint. PSRB was founded in 1988 as a boutique environmental law firm. Since then, we have grown into one of the largest environmental and insurance coverage (for policyholders) firms in the Midwest. We also handle complex litigation, real estate, business, and many other kinds of civil matters.

What would you tell another company that is thinking about supporting Solar United Neighbors’ work?

PSRB: You would be supporting families in need and helping the environment. What better reason?
