East Valley Solar Co-op selects Icon Power to serve group

The East Valley Solar Co-op has selected Icon Power to install solar panels for the 25-member group. Co-op members selected Icon Power through a competitive bidding process over three other firms. The group will hold its final public information session October 22 at Tempe Public Library educate the community about solar and the co-op process.

“Icon Power is excited to work with the co-op to install solar for residents in the East Valley,” said Jake Bastian, President of Icon Power. “Our goal is always to provide an excellent customer experience, a quality installation, and a great value and we will be sure to do that for the co-op members as well.”

Solar United Neighbors expands access to solar by educating Arizona residents about the benefits of distributed solar energy, helping them organize group solar installations, and strengthening local solar policies and the state’s community of solar supporters.

Co-op members selected Icon Power because of their competitive pricing, warranties and equipment offerings.

“Solar United Neighbors gave me the nudge I needed to move beyond simply considering the possibility of solar on my home to actually making that commitment,” said co-op member Karen Schedler.

“It was a great experience to be on the selection committee and to be able to have input on such a large and important decision,” said co-op member Paul Kocek. “Being involved will help you understand all of the companies that are competing for your dollars.”

The solar co-op is free to join and joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Icon Power will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save on the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
