Morgantown, Wheeling co-ops select installers

By Brandon Walton on August 4, 2015

The Morgantown Solar Co-op and the Wheeling Solar Co-op have selected installers Mountain View Solar and AAT Solar respectively, though a competitive bidding process to complete installation of solar panels on co-op members’ homes. The co-ops are working with WV SUN to help members better understand the process of going solar and to leverage their collective buying power to go solar together and get a discount off the installation price.

Co-op participants chose Mountain View Solar and AAT Solar from multiple submissions. Co-op members were impressed with the company’s bids because of their ability to offer quality components at very competitive prices with extensive warranties.

Morgantown and Wheeling residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at the co-op website until September 30. Joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Co-op members will have the option to purchase panels based on the group pricing from their group’s installer. Each member signs an individual contract with the installer. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, each participant generally saves up to 20% off the cost of their system.
