Space Coast Solar Co-op launches

By Ben Delman on October 24, 2016

Neighbors in Brevard County have formed a solar co-op to make it easy to save on solar. The group is holding information sessions November 1 and 2 (details below) to educate the public about solar and recruit new members.

Residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up for more information at the co-op web page. Joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Once the group is large enough, FL SUN will help the co-op solicit competitive bids from area solar installers.

Co-op members can save as much as 20% off by joining the group. They also benefit from the educational process to feel confident that they are making the right decision about going solar. Participants sign their own contracts with the installer, and everyone gets the discount. All homeowners who reside in Brevard County are eligible to participate in the co-op.

The co-op is working with the League of Women Voters Space Coast, Brevard Federation of Teachers, City of Satellite Beach, Rockledge Gardens, Space Coast EV Drivers, The Green Marketplace, Turtle Coast Sierra Club, Unitarian Universalist Church of Brevard, and WFIT 89.5FM.
