Why did you decide to go solar?

Did anything surprise you about going solar?

IPL required us to add an expensive transformer before we could connect to the grid.

Do you have any data about your solar system performance? What electricity savings have you seen since going solar?

We have been collecting data since June 2016.  We are saving some, but it’s hard to say how much because usage fluctuates and rates increase.  We were hoping to reduce our electricity bill by 10%, but it’s closer to 5%.

What advice would you give to someone considering going solar?

Go for it!  Use the enthusiasm it generates to cut your energy usage at the same time.
