We had solar panels and battery storage that kept our entire house running without interruption for 50 hours.

How did your solar hold up in a hurricane?

We survived hurricane Ian. This has been the strongest hurricane and some of the worst damage in Florida history. We were 18 miles from the eye. We heard the howling sound of the 150 mph winds and the rain. It was probably the longest 24 hours of our lives. We lost cell phone service, internet, and the grid was down. We also lost water. Although the grid was down, we had solar panels and battery storage that kept our entire house running without interruption for 50 hours. There has been devastation all around us such as massive flooding, fires, destroyed infrastructures and homes, and most devastating are the lost lives. Fortunately for us, we live in a fortress and live in a neighborhood that has been well prepared for this tragedy. There does not seem to be any visible damage to our home or to us.
