Why did you decide to go solar?

[After studying it for a year], the technology looked reliable and the economics were favorable.

Why did you decide to go solar with the co-op?

The co-op was very helpful in explaining the economics, involving others in the group who had prior experience with solar PV, vetting potential vendors, and organizing evaluation criteria.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to go solar?

Do the analysis yourself as best as you can and then get help from others like a co-op who don’t have a vested interest in any system, but can help with the evaluation. The tradeoff between technology advancement and reduction of incentives means whenever you jump in, expect a dynamic situation, but now is pretty good.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I work in the energy area, and even with my working knowledge, this decision was difficult. It should be easier. Maybe someday.
