Two South Florida solar co-ops select installers

Co-op participants meet to select an installer for the Miami UTD solar co-op.

The Palm Beach County Solar Co-op selected Wayfare Energy and the Miami UTD (United Teachers of Dade) Solar Co-op selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions to serve their respective co-ops. The companies were chosen through open and competitive bidding processes.

The Palm Beach group will hold two additional public information sessions on December 8. The Miami group will hold an additional public information session during the Second Annual Florida Solar Congress. The Congress is December 1 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Little Haiti Cultural Center. The sessions will educate the attendees about solar and the co-op process. Details about all information sessions can be found below.

The Palm Beach co-op is open to new participants until December 21 and the Miami co-op is open until December 20. Palm Beach homeowners interested in signing up can do so here. Miami homeowners can do so here.

Joining a co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. The co-op’s chosen installers will provide each co-op participant with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, participants can save off the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group participants and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
