What is happening
Current government processes are making it harder for Hawai’i families to go solar. Local governments are taking days or weeks to approve installations. These approvals could be made in a matter of minutes.
This is why lawmakers are considering legislation that would let local governments use a permitting program called “SolarApp+.” Right now, House and Senate conferee members are deciding the fate of HB 2614 that will modernize and simplify Hawai‘i’s solar permitting process. This our last chance to urge legislators to help more families access the benefits of solar energy.
SolarApp+ cuts through red tape
SolarApp+ is a free tool that helps local governments quickly and accurately approve solar installation designs. This:
- Lowers the cost of going solar,
- Speeds installation times, and
- Maximizes homeowners’ solar investment.
More than 160 jurisdictions across the country use SolarApp+. It’s time for Hawaii to join them.
