Tour provides opportunity to see solar

By Ben Delman on September 21, 2016

This year marks the 26th anniversary of the Metropolitan Washington Solar & Green Home Tour. It will be taking place the weekend of October 1-2. Homes will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 40 residences will be featured.

The tour provides an excellent opportunity to speak with solar homeowners to ask them why they decided to go solar and their experience with the technology. It is also an opportunity to view the variety of ways solar can be attached to homes and view design styles that could work for your home.

The Sierra Club, Mid Atlantic Solar Energy Society, and the American Solar Energy Society are the tour’s sponsors. For more information, visit www.solartour.org. You can also stop by the DC SUN offices (3166 Mt. Pleasant Street, NW) to purchase a $5 solar tour guide. The guide includes a tour map as well as information about each of the featured homes.
