DC SUN is proud to announce Jameka Hodnett as our new Program Director. She will help District residents go solar with their neighbors through solar co-ops. Hodnett will also work to create an accessible and affordable solar market for everyone in D.C.

“D.C.’s solar community has worked hard to make our city one of the best places for solar.” Hodnett said. “I am excited to build this community’s power to spread the benefits of solar to all D.C. residents.”

Hodnett’s first projects include helping grow the Lincoln Park Solar Co-op and conducting outreach around D.C.’s recently implemented community solar rules.

Hodnett comes to DC SUN from the Sierra club. There she was an organizer and a campaign representative helping to implement the Clean Power Plan. A Roanoke, Virginia native, she holds a B.A. in International Affairs from Trinity Washington University and is currently pursuing a J.D. at the UDC David A Clarke School of Law.
