Solar co-ops close this week in Va. Beach/Rappahannock

By Brandon Walton on October 26, 2015

This week marks the sign-up deadline for two great solar co-ops, Virginia Beach/South Hampton Roads and Rappahannock. Both groups are seeking additional members. The co-ops formed to make it easy for residents to save on solar while building a community of solar supporters.

The Virginia Beach/S. Hampton co-op selected Solar Services Inc. and the Rappahannock co-op  selected Independent Solar Solutions to install solar on co-op members’ homes. Co-op members have the option to purchase panels based upon the installer’s offer individually. By going solar with a group, each participant generally saves up to 20% off the cost of their system and has the assistance of VA SUN to help navigate the process.

You can learn more about solar and the co-op process by reviewing our solar FAQ. Feel free to contact VA SUN Program Manager Aaron Sutch with questions as well.
