Solar United Neighbors welcomes Henry McKay as Pennsylvania’s new Program Director

Solar United Neighbors of Pennsylvania is excited to announce that Henry McKay has joined our team as Pennsylvania Program Director. McKay will help expand solar access to more Pennsylvanians and empower them to build a cleaner, fairer, and more democratic energy system.

“Pennsylvania has always been a leader in energy – from the Industrial Revolution to the shale gas boom,” McKay said. “The energy revolution of the 21st century is solar, and I want to make sure that Pennsylvania maintains its place in the sun.”

Pennsylvania has the potential to generate more than half of its energy from solar, but solar currently represents less than a quarter of one percent of the state’s energy—and rooftop solar is even smaller. Expanding the reach of distributed rooftop solar would bring a host of benefits to Pennsylvanians: more financial security for families, cleaner air and water, and access to jobs in one of the fastest growing industries in the country, just to name a few.

As Pennsylvania Program Director, McKay will combine his deep experience building sustainable, resilient communities with the proven solar co-op model developed by Solar United Neighbors to help ordinary Pennsylvanians go solar and fight for a better energy future.
