Cambria County Solar Co-op selects EIS Solar to serve group

By Zach Schalk on August 13, 2018
The Cambria County Solar Co-op selection committee, made up of volunteer co-op participants, celebrates after selecting EIS Solar to serve the group.

The Cambria County Solar Co-op has selected EIS Solar to install solar panels for the 21-member group. Co-op members selected EIS Solar through a competitive bidding process over three other firms. This is the first Pennsylvania solar co-op to select an installer since our program launched in the Keystone State earlier this year!

The group will hold its final public information session September 12 at 6 pm at Saint Francis University to educate the community about solar and the co-op process. After the information session, staff from Saint Francis University’s Institute for Energy will give a short tour of their tiny classroom, which features solar panels, battery storage, a biomass pellet stove, and other sustainable features

Co-op members selected EIS Solar because of their competitive pricing, quality components, experience, and ability to support a diversity of roof types.

The co-op is open to new members until October 12, 2018. Cambria County residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at the co-op website: www.SolarUnitedNeighbors.org/Cambria.

Joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. EIS Solar will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, participants can save off the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
