Do you have any data about your solar system performance? What electricity savings have you seen since going solar?

We upsized by one panel for a future electric vehicle. We net export more power so can use heavier loads during the when making power. Our bills are now minimal and consist of the obligatory charge of being connected to the grid plus whatever fuel costs needed to generate power during non production times since we do not have a battery.

What advice would you give to someone considering going solar?

We rebuilt a small 1,200 sf home and insulated the block walls and closed cell foam in the attic. All LED lights and efficient appliances help with lowering power needs thus reducing the size of the array needed to support our home.

Anything else you’d like to add?

It’s good for the environment. It’s good economically speaking especially if you can purchase a small system directly although financing is very good and assignable. It is socially responsible encouraging and demonstrating to others to live more in balance so that there is less resource demanding infrastructure that impacts the health of our shared communities.
