Augusta co-op chooses Sigora Solar

The 50+ member Augusta County Solar Co-op has selected Sigora Solar though a competitive bidding process to complete installation of solar panels on co-op members’ homes. VA SUN is working with the co-op to help members better understand the process of going solar and to leverage their group buying power to go solar together and get a discount off the installation price.

Co-op participants chose Sigora Solar from multiple submissions. Co-op members were impressed with the company’s bid because of its ability to offer quality components at competitive prices with extensive warranties.

“We’re very excited to be working with the members of the Augusta Co-op. This community is our home and we’re proud to help it go solar.” Said Jeff Nicholson of Sigora Solar

Residents of Staunton, Augusta, and Waynesboro interested in joining the co-op can sign up at the co-op website until late September. The co-op looks to hold an information session in late August to educate the public about solar and recruit new members.

Joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Co-op members will have the option to purchase panels based on the group pricing offered by Sigora Solar. Each member signs an individual contract with the installer. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, each participant generally saves up to 20% off the cost of their system.
