First Colorado solar co-ops choose installers

By Ben Delman on May 16, 2019

The 67-member Fort Collins Solar Co-op, and the 42-member Yampa Valley Solar Co-op have selected REenergizeCO and Sunwise Solar, respectively, to serve the group. Both companies were selection through two separate competitive bidding processes, each over four other firms. Both groups will host additional public information sessions to educate the community about solar and the co-op process. The Yampa Valley Solar Co-op is hosting a series of events throughout the valley during the first week of June, starting in Oak Creek.

Fort Collins Solar Co-op members selected REenergizeCO for their competitive pricing, warranties, and local community engagement. Yampa Valley Solar Co-op members selected Sunwise Solar for their competitive pricing, quality equipment, and local experience.

Both co-ops are open to new members until July 1. Fort Collins residents interested in joining the Fort Collins Solar Co-op can sign up online at: www.solarunitedneighbors.org/fortcollins. Moffat and Routt County residents interested in joining the Yampa Valley Solar Co-op can sign up at the co-op web page: www.solarunitedneighbors.org/yampavalley. The solar co-ops are free to join and joining is not a commitment to purchase panels.

Installers will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save off the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
