Halifax co-op members celebrate success

Earlier this month, thirty members of the Halifax Solar Co-op came together to celebrate the group’s work. The co-op recruited more than fifty members, seven of whom have now gone solar. More installations are expected.

The group met at the Oak Grove Plantation. The Bed and Breakfast installed a 32-panel system as part of the co-op. VA SUN gave out awards to several attendees for their hard work to build the co-op into a success. Halifax Town Manager Carl Espy, co-op member Hodges Throckmorton, Oak Grove owner Pickett Craddock and former Halifax Events Coordinator Rebecca Ramey were recognized.

The Halifax co-op was the area’s first.
