Learn about going solar from the comfort of your own home

By Ben Delman on March 16, 2018

Solar United Neighbors of New Jersey will be hosting a webinar Wednesday, March 28th at 6:30 p.m. to educate viewers about going solar. This will be a great opportunity to learn about solar technology as well as learn how neighbors in the Allentown (N.J.) area, and soon across New Jersey, can work with a solar co-op to simplify the process of going solar.

The webinar will provide you with information about solar technology, financing, and policies related to your ability to go solar. It is also a great opportunity to have your questions about going solar answered. If you are a homeowner who lives in or around the Central New Jersey region, the webinar will also discuss the area’s new solar co-op.

Solar co-ops help participants save money by going solar with a group. Once the group is large enough, about 25 participants, the co-op solicits a request for proposal. A selection committee, made up of co-op participant then reviews each bid and selects the one that best fits the needs of the group. The selected installer then develops personalized proposals for each co-op participant. Homeowners in the group review their proposal and can decide if going solar is right for them.

If you don’t live in or around Central New Jersey, don’t worry. Solar United Neighbors has worked in more than 100 communities around the country to develop solar co-ops. We’ll be bringing this opportunity to your community soon.
