Solar co-op in the Upper Keys selects installer for group

By Ben Delman on April 2, 2018

The Upper Keys Solar Co-op has selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions to install solar panels for the 69-participant group. Co-op participants unanimously selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions through a competitive bidding process and spent three hours reviewing bids on behalf of the homeowners in their co-op. The group will hold a solar Open House April 7 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 218 Plantation Boulevard in Islamorada and a final public information session April 24 at the Florida Sea Base Conference, Training, and Retreat Center to educate the community about solar and the co-op process.

The selection committee chose Cutler Bay Solar Solutions because of the breadth of quality components, competitive pricing, experience and warranties.

The co-op is open to new participants until May 7. Keys residents from Long Key Bridge and north to Key Largo who are interested in joining the co-op can sign up at the co-op web page.

Joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Cutler Bay Solar Solutions will provide each co-op participant with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, participants can save off the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group participants and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
