Solar United Neighbors welcomes Yesenia Rivera as D.C.’s new Program Director

By Ben Delman on October 19, 2017

Solar United Neighbors of D.C. is excited to announce that Yesenia Rivera is joining our organization as our D.C. Program Director. Rivera will help us grow solar across the District and helping us create an electric system that is affordable, reliable, and renewable. Rivera brings extensive community organizing experience as well as deep ties to the tenant advocacy and low-income housing communities in the District to Solar United Neighbors.

“As solar homeowner myself, I’m eager to help families across the District save money and take control of where their electricity comes from by helping them go solar,” Rivera said. “I understand the burden that electricity bills can place on families. Deploying solar is a great solution to help people afford where they live.”

Rivera will help Solar United Neighbors implement solar co-ops as a part of the grant we have received as part of the Solar for All effort. Expect more announcements about this innovative initiative later this year.
