Va. Beach/S. Hampton Roads Solar Co-op momentum builds

By Brandon Walton on June 30, 2015

Several exciting things are happening with the Virginia Beach Solar Co-op. The group continues to grow and will be hosting its next information session July 8.

Info session details:

When: Wednesday, July 8, 5:30pm

Where: Ynot Pizza, The Shoppes at Greenbriar, 1036 Volvo Pkwy #7, Chesapeake, VA 23320

The group will issue its request for proposals (RFP) on July 15 for local installers.

VA SUN will work with the co-op to help members choose the proposal that best fits the group. Once an installer is selected, the installer will provide a custom proposal to each co-op member based upon the member’s home.

Co-op members can decide if they want to go solar after they receive their individual proposal. Co-op members can expect to save up to 20% off the cost of their installation when compared to going solar individually.

VA Organizing and the Hampton Roads Solar Tour recently joined the effort to promote the co-op, adding to the support the group has received from the Virginia Sierra Club and Mom’s Clean Air Force.
