VA SUN adds new program assistant

By Brandon Walton on October 19, 2015

VA SUN is excited to welcome aboard new program assistant Luanda Fiscella.

Luanda is an Urban Planning student at VCU. Her interest in sustainable development was shaped by her time living in Portland, Oregon where she was able to experience first-hand the benefits of smart growth and the effectiveness of community led projects.

Luanda will be assisting Program Director, Aaron Sutch with outreach, administration and technical support for VA SUN. Luanda also works with HandsOn Greater Richmond, recruiting volunteers for Habitat’s Restore. She assists groups who donate their time organizing and processing home improvement items. Profits raised at Restore go directly into making homeownership possible for working families in Richmond.

She is a recent transplant to Richmond and was instantly inspired by the city on the James River, seeing white-water rafters cut through an urban landscape. Luanda also enjoys riding bicycles, spending time with her three sisters, and practicing Portuguese.
