Yampa Valley Solar Co-op releases RFP, announces events

By Ben Delman on April 1, 2019

The 30-member Yampa Valley Solar Co-op today issued a request for proposals (RFP) from area solar installers. The group participants created the co-op to save money and make going solar easier, while building a network of solar supporters. The group also announced it will host an information meeting April 2 and a happy hour April 4 to educate the community about solar and the co-op process.

Local installers interested in serving the group can click to download the RFP and response template. Moffat and Routt County residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at the co-op web page: www.solarunitedneighbors.org/yampavalley.

The solar co-op is free to join and joining is not a commitment to purchase panels. Co-op participants will select a single company to complete all of the installations. They will then have the option to purchase panels individually based on the installer’s group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, participants can save up off the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group participants and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.

The Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, Alpine Bank, Colorado Renewable Energy Society, New Energy Colorado, Elkstone Farm, Four M Ranch, Steamboat Flyfisher, Opera Steamboat, Wild Goose Coffee at the Granary, Yampatika, Light Works of Steamboat are the co-op sponsors.
