Why did you decide to go solar?

For years we have had an interest in solar to help with climate change and perhaps to save some dollars. When we became aware that a coop had formed in our area, we attended and education event and immediately decided to join and to get a proposal.

Did anything surprise you about going solar?

We were so impressed with the technology and with the professionalism of the SunFarm Energy team. They were careful to design a system for us that met our expectations. Installation was quick and easy from our perspective and the connection to Gulf Power occurred with no problems. Our bills have been less than one half of what we paid last summer. I check the software often to follow how much electricity we are generating and using. We are truly big advocates for Solar.

Why did you choose to go solar with Solar United Neighbors?

I like the community approach and enjoyed knowing that others were confident in what we were doing as well as themselves in going solar.

What benefits did you experience going solar with a co-op?

We saved thousands of dollars by being part of a cooperative.

Do you have any data about your solar system performance? What electricity savings have you seen since going solar?

We have daily information about the power we have generated as well as a monthly and lifetime summary. Most interesting is the CO2 Offset expressed in pounds.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Do it.
