I feel so much clarity and transparency understanding solar now!

Went Solar with the Palm Beach County solar Co-op in 2018
System size: 8.26 kW

Why did you decide to go solar?

We became aware last November of the formation of the Palm Beach County Solar Co-op and were interested in energy conservation and being able to reduce greenhouse emissions, we decided to attend an information session.

Why did you opt to go solar with a co-op?

Joining the Solar Co-op gave us exposure to many others who are also interested, as we are, in the benefits of Solar PV systems. When many are focused on a particular endeavor, such as selecting the Solar PV installer, you get economies of scale as well as a peer-reviewed selection.

What surprised you most about the process?

We are surprised by the misinformation that many people not in the Co-op have regarding Solar PV systems.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

While we were home when the Solar installation started, the next day [4/3/2018] we left on a cruise and did not return until after construction was completed. As such, a neighbor supervised, as needed, anything that was required by Vinyasun, City of West Palm Beach and FPL. This included a final inspection that consisted of 4 or 5 individuals. According to my neighbor, the inspector supervising was teaching the other inspectors and stated that this (our) installation was  “TEXT  BOOK”  We  could  not  be  happier!
