With the co-op, we reviewed competitors in an organized way.
Paul and Gail – North East, Maryland
Went solar with the Cecil Solar Co-op in 2017
System size: 11.5 kW, 32 panels
Why did you decide to go solar?
We had experience with solar on our boat when we lived on it for two and a half years. We had looked into it for years, now it seems more practical, panels produce more energy and the cost has come down.
Why did you opt to go solar with a co-op?
The co-op had more information that was up to date. We could review competitors in an organized fashion with a selection committee and a knowledgeable co-op representative.
What advice would you give to someone considering going solar?
Talk to knowledgeable people, gathering information from different people with solar systems.
What surprised you most about the process?
Perceived complexities were handled by the vendor making it a simple process.
How much energy savings do you expect to see per year compared to what you pay now?
During high usage summer month savings were 75% and we expect to save more during moderate months.
