A note to Minnesota’s solar community

By Virginia Rutter on April 12, 2019

Virginia Rutter, Minnesota State Director of Solar United NeighborsDear Minnesota solar community,

Some of you may have already heard this news, but I have a bittersweet announcement to make: I will be leaving Solar United Neighbors of Minnesota, with my last day on May 2. It has been an honor to work with this community to grow our program over these last 18 months, and I am so proud of what we have built.

In these 18 months, Solar United Neighbors of Minnesota:

  • Gave dozens of informational presentations on rooftop solar, reaching more than 650 community members
  • Connected with communities at more than 10 tabling events across the state
  • Helped 60+ families go solar, with 390.8 kW of solar (and counting!)

We also hosted the first annual Minnesota Solar Congress, had a local brewery in our Brews from the Sun Competition, and had our first Minnesota solar co-op installation as a stop on the National Solar Tour!

We are hiring for the next Director, so please share the posting with your networks to help us find the best candidate. Solar United Neighbors staff will be supporting the program through the transition, so please direct any questions to mnteam@solarunitedneighbors.org.

Farewell, and thanks for all the solar!

Virginia
