Expand solar access in D.C.

We're fighting for solar rights to benefits all District residents. Help us pass bills that will expand solar access to more Washingtonians!

Thanks to solar supporters in D.C. flooding the Wilson Building with hundreds of emails and taking action to support solar access legislation, the D.C. Council unanimously passed the Solar Cooperative Association Expansion Amendment Act of 2017. Now we need to keep fighting for policy that will benefit current and future solar owners in the District!

The Solar Ready Roofs and Sustainable Development Amendment Act of 2017 (B22-0437) would create new requirements to encourage rooftop solar deployment on new development and buildings undergoing “substantial” renovation. Solar United Neighbors of D.C. testified in support of both bills at a December 2017 Council hearing, but the Council has yet to move forward on the Solar Ready Roofs bill.

Let your Councilmembers know that you support action to expand access to solar for all District residents!
