Virginia Rutter

Minnesota Program Director

Virginia is an experienced renewable energy financing professional. She has advised a variety of governmental and non-profit organization through the community solar subscription process and sat on the Xcel Energy Solar*Rewards Community working group for several years. Virginia also worked as a municipal financial advisor. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota Humphrey School and a Bachelor’s from Pomona College. When not working to help Minnesotans go solar, you can find her knitting, running on local trails, or exploring nature with her two kids.

Ian Reichardt

Go Solar Program Specialist

Ian has worked to build sustainable communities across the globe. He studied the effects of a small-scale hydroelectric dam on agriculture and water resource allocation in rural Ecuador. He worked with local farming communities to ensure they had equitable water access. Ian is happy to be back in the States working toward a clean, equitable energy system. Ian graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s in Communications and minors in Computer Science and Sustainability.  Outside of work, he loves to play guitar, read, bike, and spend time with friends and family.

Carra Cheslin

Carra Cheslin

Director of Engagement

Carra serves as the Director of Engagement for Solar United Neighbors and is passionate about connecting, activating, and engaging people from all walks of life in the environmental movement. She joined Solar United Neighbors to contribute to the implementation of tangible on the ground solutions to climate change and to mobilize more folks to get involved with spreading the word about renewable energy in their communities. Carra has over a decade of professional experience in program management and design, community outreach and engagement, youth development, and digital organizing in the non-profit, local government, recreation, and education sectors. Carra holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Sociology-based Human Relations from Connecticut College and is a certified Wilderness First Responder and Master Gardener.
