EVs and solar in Pennsylvania

As of 2016, almost 9,000 electric vehicles had been registered in Pennsylvania. The state’s Alternative Fuel Vehicle rebate program offers incentives from $750 to $1,750 when you purchase a new electric vehicle with an odometer reading of 500 miles or less. A grant program helps school districts, municipalities, nonprofits, and other organizations cover the cost of converting their vehicle fleets to alternative fuels. Depending on your county, you may be exempt from your vehicle emissions test.

Electric Vehicle Charging Guide

EV chargers are classified into three categories: level 1, level 2, and level 3 (DC Fast charging). The categories are defined by the power and rate at which they charge a vehicle, and the electric infrastructure required for installation and operation.
