Protect solar investment in Pennsylvania

House Bill 2025 would slow solar’s growth. It would pull Pennsylvania out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a bipartisan effort by Northeast states to cut carbon emissions from power plants. It generates funds to invest in renewable energy, like solar.

Governor Wolf recently vetoed legislation, HB 2025, that would stop Pennsylvania from joining and benefiting from this agreement.

Economic analysis of the program concludes that it would create 27,000 jobs and boost our state’s economy by nearly $2 billion. It also will reduce asthma attacks and other health problems for thousands of Pennsylvania children and adults.

This is why a recent poll found that 72 percent of Pennsylvania voters support joining RGGI.

Please contact your legislators today. Urge them to uphold Governor Wolf’s veto.
