Don’t let the Florida Municipal Power Association make rooftop solar “go away”
Jacob Williams, CEO of Florida Municipal Power Agency, recently told municipal utility leaders that they should impose a fixed, monthly $50 fee to make solar customers “go away.”
Charging an extra $600 a year for electricity hurts everyone. It is harmful to people who have invested in rooftop solar systems and energy efficiency improvements in their homes. High fixed charges limit the amount we can save by generating our own electricity.
